Introduction:

The "Aero Flakes" are a group of R/Cers that need a good flying fix in the long Winter months of Western and Upstate NY so we fly together indoors when the snowflakes fall. We also welcome any free-flight enthusiasts and allow you to fly in your own time slots without any R/C planes.

Facility and Directions:

The AeroFlakes events are held at the double gym in the Sweden-Clarkson Community Center. This is 25 min. from Rochester and 60 min. from Buffalo (airport).

Directions: go to Brockport, follow the map below.

From the west, take the I-490 exit (47, mile 378) labeled for Rochester. Immediately after the toll booth take the exit for Route 19. It loops around crossing 490. Immediately turn right following the SUNY College sign north. You will pass through Bergen in a few miles. The turn into the Rec Center is at the bottom of the only downhill slope you will encounter. You will see a Wal Mart on the right. About 100 yards before the light you will turn left snaking up the hill past an apartment complex to the Community Center.

From the East you will take I-490 to Route 531. The freeway ends at a light. Turn right but move quickly to the left lane. You will turn left after about 150 yards at the next light. Follow Route 31 to Route 19. There is a dead Ames department store on the left just before your turn. Turn left on Route 19. Proceed through the light in front of the Wal Mart. Turn right about 100 yards past the light. At the top of the access road is the Community Center.
