Meeting Minutes
January 21, 2004

Call to Order:Fran Merklinger, our 2004 President opened the meeting at 7:15pm

Roll Call:There were13 members Present

Guests:Ted Williams and Sam Personte.

Minutes Approved:Motion made by George Weed, 2nd by Larry Comstra

Secretary’s Report:None

Treasures Report:Doug Severson reported our current financial standing.

Field Director: None

Safety Director: Larry Comstra suggested that every one go over their planes to make sure that all the surfaces are tight, wing bolt mounts are secure, and clevises are strong. This will help to save broken airplanes in the spring.

Newsletter Editor: Jim Schwab requested that all members with e-mail update the secretary’s list. Secretary’s e-mail craigbrooks@att.net . News letter can be found at www.gregcovey.com/chiefs/htm and select newsletter.

Public Relations: None

Old Business
Donation Program: Jim Schwab reported that the paper work has been given to Wegmans regarding the donation to non-profit organizations program. Jim has solicited Tops for club support and reported that Tops will provide food for the club events. The paper work for mailing to other firms is complete.

Site Improvement Program: Jim Schwab advised that the form for the AMA fund for the support to clubs for the building a new field has been filled out and will be sent to the AMA in March, 2004. Pictures of the improvements will be sent to Wegmans and other donors when available.

Swap Meet: Larry Comstra provided copies of the flyer for the swap meet (March 20). The members approved the flyer. Nice job Larry and Kathy!!!

T-shirts and Caps: Rich Chappell reported that we have a few caps and t-shirts left. He will report on the cost of new t-shirts and caps at the next meeting.

New Business
Float Fly for 2004: The Float fly is set for May 22 & 23, 2004. Larry Comstra reported that Dick Parshall has it under control. Thanks Dick!

Show and Tell

George Weed brought videos of last years float fly and an RC Wright Flyer.
Larry Comstra showed a Challenger electric that he bought on ebay. He says the plane has plenty of power and flies great!
